X-ray

We are proud to offer advanced digital x-ray technology for our clients. X-rays are used to identify the location and severity of fractures, detect signs of heart disease, identify foreign bodies in your pet's stomach and much more.

Digital x-ray technology has many benefits for you and your pet. It is far more detailed than old technology, using film that has to be developed and having rapid results significantly reduces the time your pet will need to be under anaesthesia. These images can also be emailed or saved to a disc, allowing for fast consultations with veterinary specialists when necessary.

Laboratory

We have an in-house, state-of-the-art Idexx® laboratory for diagnostic testing. Because a sick pet deserves the fastest, most accurate treatment, we are equipped with a complete laboratory, capable of performing a number of tests for your pet, including:

  • Complete blood counts
  • Chemistry screens
  • Thyroid screens
  • Electrolyte levels
  • Feline leukaemia and Feline Aids test
  • Lungworm antigen test
  • Cortisol levels
  • Urine protein/creatinine ratio

Because your pet's health is important to us, our laboratory is capable of producing results within a few minutes. Our Veterinary Centre also utilises an outside reference laboratory, capable of producing results within 24 hours.

Microscopy

We use the microscope for a variety of purposes such as examining skin samples for parasites and urine sediment. This enables us to make a rapid diagnosis for certain conditions and for assessing treatments.

 Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a painless and non-invasive imaging technique, used to look at your pet’s internal organs. Using high-frequency sound waves, ultrasound enables us to see real-time images of your pet’s chest and abdomen so that we can locate any specific areas of concern.

Blood Pressure

Yes, pets do suffer from high blood pressure, just like people. That's why it is important to be able to monitor blood pressure. Measuring blood pressure only takes a few minutes, is completely pain-free and is extremely well-tolerated by most animals.

Endoscopy

Endoscopes utilise fibre-optic technology for examination of your pet’s:

  • oral cavity
  • nose
  • trachea
  • oesophagus
  • stomach
  • colon

This allows us to make an accurate diagnosis.
