Our vets have a wide interest in different areas of veterinary medicine varying from dentistry to practice management.
Challenging medical cases are discussed on the work floor on a daily basis. Regular meetings are held to discuss new treatment options and how to develop our veterinary centre to the highest standard.
Andrew Mitchell BVM&S MRCVS
Andrew qualified from Edinburgh University in 1977 and started work straightaway in mixed practice in N. Ireland and Wales before settling in Midhurst in 1982. With the changing face of local agriculture, Woodland Vets became 100% Companion Animal in 2002. This allowed him to concentrate his Continuing Professional Development in this area, alongside practice management.
In 2008, Woodland Veterinary Centre Ltd was created with Andrew and his wife Sian as directors.
His aim is to provide a pleasant working atmosphere so that all our staff can work together as a team whilst encouraging individual interest and skills, thus providing a caring and effective service to clients and animals alike.
Diane Dunsford BVet Med MRCVS
Diane graduated from London University in 1998. She is our in house surgeon and sometimes consults with clients on a Saturday.
Diane spends her free time looking after her children and walking her dog.
Drs. Hans Schultheiss MRCVS
Hans is originally from the Netherlands and graduated in 1988 from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). He started his career in Henley on Thames and worked in English and Dutch practices to gain a broad experience in veterinary medicine. He had his own practice in the Netherlands for 10 years and joined us in October 2008. Hans has a keen interest in Internal Medicine and Felines.
In his spare time, he is enthusiastically trying to reach a degree of self sufficiency.
Hans is the webmaster/ webdesigner of our website.
Kate Harmer BVSc MRCVSKate's roots lay in Australia and she qualified at the University of Queensland (Brisbane) in 2002.
She joined the Woodland Veterinary Centre in 2011 after working in various English practices. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and performs all the operations at our Haslemere Centre.
Kate spends her free time with her partner touring through the English countryside in their camper van.
Mar Alonso BVMS VetLFHom MRCVS
Every Tuesday morning and Thursday morning Mar visits our Haslemere practice. She offers complementary therapies,such as Acupuncture, Homeopathy and Low Level Laser Therapy.
Mar has more than 10 years experience in conventional medicine. Having been treated with Homeopathy and Acupuncture herself she decided to start Postgraduate training attending courses delivered by the Faculty of Homeopathy, by the London AcuMedic Foundation in cooperation with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and by the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists.
She is currently a:

♦ Member of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists.
♦ Licensed Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy.
Emma Buckland BSc BVet Med GP(Cert) WVA&CPM MRCVS
Emma studied at Southampton University between 1995 and 1998 obtaining a BSc degree in Physiology and Pharmacology before undergoing veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College. She qualified as a vet in 2003 and has been working in first opinion small animal practice since.
She hase been awarded the General Practitioners Certificate in Western Veterinary Acupuncture and Chronic Pain Management (GP Cert WVA & CPM).
She is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA).
